The India vs Zimbabwe schedule will start with a three-match ODI series in August 2022. For the first time since 2016, the Indian cricket team has travelled to Zimbabwe to battle the African side in an international bilateral cricket series.
Keeping the workload of senior players in mind, the Indian selectors have sent a second-string Indian squad to Zimbabwe for this series. However, it is a very important series for Zimbabwe because the three matches are a part of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
Zimbabwe is 12th on the 13-team points table right now. They need to win their upcoming matches to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
History
To ensure that bilateral cricket matches are relevant in the modern era, ICC introduced the Cricket World Cup Super League two years ago. In this tournament, 13 teams play eight series of three matches each.
Four series take place in home conditions, while the other four happen overseas. The upcoming series is a home series for Zimbabwe and an away one for India.
India vs Zimbabwe 2022 Format
The ICC Cricket World Cup Super League follows a simple format. The winner of each match earns 10 points, while the loser returns empty-handed.
So far, India has registered eight wins in 12 matches of the league, whereas Zimbabwe has managed three victories in 15 games.

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has allotted all three matches of the India vs Zimbabwe series to one venue only. The entire tour will take place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
