The current Denver Broncos home stadium is the Empire Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. The stadium was previously known as the Broncos Stadium at Mile High. The stadium was previously host to the Denver Outlaws lacrosse team and the Colorado Rapids of the MLS. The stadium is also famous for being the venue for former U.S. President Barack Obama’s acceptance of the Presidential nomination.

The area of Denver in Colorado has a heritage of being the Wild West. A ‘Bronco’ refers to an untamed horse; a term associated with the Wild West. Thus, the name Denver Broncos is a homage to the heritage of the place where it is located. The Broncos nickname came about by being the winning entry of a name the new team contest that the new Denver AFL franchise had in early 1960

Currently, quarterback Russell Wilson is the highest paid player on the Denver Broncos team. He signed a $245 million extension which is set to keep him with the franchise till 2028.
