The ninth chapter of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place across the Caribbean Islands and in the United States of America (USA) between June 02-29, 2024.


The 20-side showpiece event will see sides get divided into four different groups. Each team will lock horns with the remaining sides of their group once.


The top two sides from each group will qualify for the Super-8 stage, where teams will be divided into two groups of four. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.


The semi-finals will take place in Guyana and Trinidad on June 27 while the titular clash will take place at Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29.


T20 World Cup 2024: Bangladesh Squad


The Asian Tigers will be led by top-order batter Nazmul Hossain Shanto in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States of America.


The squad boasts of tried-and-tested names in the batting department, with Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy set to lead the batting department.

Champion all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and veteran ODI and Test batsman Mahmudullah, who missed the previous T20 WC, will lead the middle-order.


The pace arena is stacked with youth and experience in the form of Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Shoriful Islam. The Asian Tigers have also included rookie leggie Rishad Hossain and left-arm orthodox Tanvir Islam to aid veteran spin-bowling all-rounder Mahedi Hasan Miraz.


With vice-captain Taskin Ahmed’s fitness a concern, right-arm seamer Hasan Mahmud has been added as his cover.


Bangladesh are locked in Group D alongside Sri Lanka, South Africa, Nepal, and the Netherlands. The Tigers will open their campaign against bitter rivals Sri Lanka on June 08 before squaring off against South Africa (June 10), the Netherlands (June 13), and Nepal (June 17).
