The House of Black Bio

The House of Black is a wrestling stable in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It is driven by the Malakai Black and other individuals Brody King, Julia Hart, and Buddy Matthews. With a villainous demeanor, they have left their imprint as former AEW World Trios Champions. They showcased predominance both in AEW and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where they ruled as PWG World Tag Team Champions. The team originated in PWG in 2021 as the Kings of the Black Throne. Their transition to AEW cemented their presence, laying out the House of Black with the motto "The House Always Wins."

Early Life

Born on May 19, 1985, in Alkmaar, Netherlands, Malakai Black flaunts a rich martial arts background. His training incorporates pencak silat, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, teachings that have altogether affected his wrestling style.

Born in Van Nuys, California, US on March 17, 1987, Brody King began his journey into pro wrestling after at first working in the vehicle park of the Kia Forum.

Born in Melbourne, Victoria, on September 26, 1988, Buddy Matthews finished his schooling at Berwick Auxiliary School, graduating in 2006.

Brought up in Minnesota, Hart spent six years as a competitive cheerleader during her early days. After moving on from secondary school, she became disinterested and disillusioned with the game. After realizing that she had reached her prime in cheerleading, Hart considered pro wrestling to be a promising career and chose to make the change.

The House of Black Professional Wrestling Career

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (2021–present)

Malakai Black made a sensational return of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) close by Brody King. Together, they came to face the PWG Title holder Bandido during an attack by Black Taurus, Super Dragon, and Demonic Flamita. This led to the formation of the tag team known as Kings of the Black Throne. Their partnership immediately demonstrated success as they beat Taurus and Flamita to catch the vacated PWG World Tag Team Title. King's statement of following Malakai Black any place he would go hardened their alliance, making way for their dominance in PWG.

All Elite Wrestling (2022–present)

Malakai Black made a dramatic entry into All Elite Wrestling in 2021, targeting Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes with his signature Black Mass. Soon after, he started a feud with Death Triangle and The Varsity Blonds. This made way for the development of the House of Black close by Brody King and Buddy Matthews. Their predominance was obvious when they went on to beat Erick Redbeard and Death Triangle at Revolution's buy-in.

Malakai Black's sinister strategies reached out to Julia Hart, whom he blinded with black mist. This drives her to join The House of Black after betraying The Varsity Blonds. This partnership was tried against Death Triangle at the event of Double Or Nothing, where Hart's inclusion cemented her allegiance. In the meantime, Brody King was in a feud with Darby Allin and lost a coffin match against him. The House of Black confronted Miro, Sting, and Darby Allin, at All Out PPV.

Their success peaked at Revolution 2023, where they secured the AEW World Trios Title from The Elite stable. However, their reign did not last many days as they lost the titles to Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed at All In pay-per-view. In the meantime, Julia Hart left a mark on the world by catching the AEW TBS Title at Full Gear. She just lost it to Willow Nightingale at AEW Dynasty 2024.

The only female member of House of Black, Julia Hart is married to professional wrestler Lee Johnson. They got married in 2023, one year after their engagement.
