Dublin Chiefs is a Twenty20 franchise team based in Dublin, Ireland. The team will compete against five other teams in Euro T20 Slam, whose inaugural edition is scheduled to start from 30 August 2019. The tournament will be played across three nations, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands.
The teams will have a minimum of nine domestic players and a maximum of seven overseas players in their squads. On match days, at least six of the 11 will be domestic players. Dublin Chiefs is one of the two teams from Ireland, the other being Belfast Titans.
In the Euro T20 Slam draft completed at London, World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan was revealed as the icon player of Dublin Chiefs. The England captain will have Babar Azam as the marquee player in his side.
Malahide Cricket Ground is the home ground of Dublin Chiefs. The former spin bowler from New Zealand, Daniel Vettori will be team’s coach. The team will play its first match of Euro T20 Slam against Edinburgh Rocks at VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen on 31 August 2019.
