Olajide Olayinka Williams ‘JJ’ Olatunji was born on June 19, 1993 to Jide Olatnji and Yinka Atinuke. His father was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, whereas his mother was from Islington in London. KSI was born in London and brought up in Watford, Hertfordshire, which is more than 40 miles away from London.

KSI and his family fall under the African ethnicity called Yoruba, which are the major inhabitants of Nigeria. Hence, KSI’s roots come from the Nigerian subcontinent.

He made his amateur boxing debut in order to settle his beef against another Youtuber, Joe Weller, and won the bout via TKO at 1:30 in the third round. For his second amateur boxing matchup, KSI had a draw against Logan Paul on August 25, 2018.

KSI made his professional debut in a rematch against Logan Paul on November 9, 2019, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, United States. He had a split-decision win over Paul after a six-rounder.
