South African cricketer Clyde Fortuin was born on August 18, 1995, and rose to prominence after he was selected for his country's squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Later on, he was a member of the Border squad that played in the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. Fortuin was chosen for the Bloem City Blazers team for the T20 Global League's inaugural season in August 2017. But in late 2017, the league was canceled after being postponed.

Fortuin became a member of the Northern Cape team in September 2019 in preparation for the CSA Provincial T20 Cup. His career gained more momentum when he was included in Boland's team for the South African cricket season of 2021–2022 in April 2021. He made history on October 4, 2021, when he defeated the Warriors by an unbeaten 104 to score his first-ever century in Twenty20 cricket during the CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out event. Despite the modest performance, his strike rate was 78.57, reflecting his efforts to anchor the innings. Although his contribution in this game might not have been a standout, Fortuin’s inclusion in the team highlights the potential he brings to the squad. Due to good performance in domestic cricket, Clyde Fortune got the opportunity to make his international debut in the Test format in February 2024.

Clyde was included in South Africa's squad for the two-Test Match series in the New Zealand tour and he got the opportunity to represent South Africa in both matches of the series, but he could not take advantage of this opportunity due to a disappointing performance, he was dropped from South Africa's Test team.

Clyde has not yet made his debut in the limited overs format and now he is looking for a way to make a comeback in the Test format as well.

Cloud Fortune started his international career on 4 February 2024 in a test match against New Zealand in Bey Oval where he scored nine runs in the first innings of the test match and 11 runs in the second innings. Despite the poor performance, he got another chance in the next test of that series where once again he scored three runs in both innings and disappointed the selectors, due to this, he got dropped from the team. In his test career, he has only played two games and still looking for a comeback.

Clyde Fortuin Under 19 Career

Clyde Fortuin was also a part of South Africa's winning team in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup.

He scored 119 runs in the six games at an average of 19.83, which also includes the 74-run innings which he scored in the semi-final against Australia.

Clyde's half-century in the semi-final helped South Africa beat Australia by 80 runs. In this match, Fortune was the highest run scorer for South Africa, but young Rabada strengthened his claim for the Man of the Match trophy by taking 6 wickets for 25 runs in 8.2 overs.
