Carles Puyol

Carles Puyol i Saforcada is a Spanish professional football player who plays as a central defender for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team. Carles can also play as a either flank, or a right back. He started his career at his hometown club La Pobla de Segur, where he spent two years and joined with FC Barcelona where he was one of the main defenders, that took part in almost every match of the reserve team. He played 89 games for the reserve team and scored 6 goals in the season 1997-2000 as well as he got a chance to make his debut in Barcelona’s main squad , After his first season with FC Barcelona , he became a frequent member of the main squad. Since 1999 Puyol has played more than 370 games for Barcelona in La Liga and scored 9 goals. As well as, Carles Puyol was invited 12 times to play for youth teams ranking from U-18 to U-23.
