Atharva Taide, born on 26 April 2000 in Akola, Maharashtra, is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha at the domestic level and Punjab Kings in the IPL.

Atharva Taide Career

Atharva Taide made his domestic cricket debut for Vidarbha against Baroda in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, after that Atharva also made his Ranji Trophy debut three months later. If we talk about T20 matches, Atharva started his T20 career in February 2019 with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he played his first match against Himachal Pradesh in Surat.

Atharva was included in the IPL team of Punjab Kings in the mega action of 2022, after which he showed his presence in two consecutive IPL seasons.

Atharva Taide Domestic Career

Atharva Taide started his domestic cricket in 2018 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he played brilliantly for Vidarbha against Baroda and scored 57 runs on 65 balls in his very first match. In that tournament, Atharva had scored the highest 311 runs for Vidharbha in 7 matches at an average of 51.83 and a strike rate of 89.36.

Only after 3 months, Atharva got the opportunity to make his debut in the Ranji Trophy, where he contributed only 12 runs in his first match against Gujarat. 2018 is the same year when Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy title. Atharva has scored 1471 runs at an average of 42.02 in 37 innings of 23 first-class matches played so far, in which he has scored three centuries and eight half-centuries.

Atharva started T20 cricket at the domestic level by making his debut against Himachal Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in February 2019, in his first match, he batted brilliantly and scored 43 runs in just 16 balls at a strike rate of 268.75 and also he was the second highest run scorer for Vidarbha in the tournament where he scored 205 runs in 10 matches at an average of 22.77 with a strike rate of 125.76.

Atharva Taide also has an excellent record in domestic cricket. While opening the inning for Vidarbha, Atharva scored 320 runs in the Cooch Vihar Trophy 2018, which is parallel to the most runs scored in an inning in this tournament by Yuvraj Singh in 1999.

Atharva Taide IPL Career

Atharva Tayde started his IPL career for Punjab Kings in 2023 when the franchise included him in their squad at the base price in the 2022 mega action. In his first match of IPL, Atharva was out without bothering the scoreboard against Lucknow Super Giants.

Atharva has been associated with Punjab Kings for the last two IPL seasons and so far he has scored 247 runs for Punjab Kings in 9 matches at an average of 27.44, which also includes two half-centuries in his name.

Atharva Taide Under-19 Career

Atharva Tare started his Under-19 career in 2018 against Sri Lanka where he played 2 Test matches and 4 ODIs. Atharva Taide became the second-highest run scorer for India by scoring centuries in both the innings of the first two test matches. He had scored 290 runs in the two test innings. However, if we talk about the one-day campaign, Atharva’s performance was not anything special and he only scored 56 runs in four innings.
