25-year-old Abdul Basith, coming from Kerala, is seen playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Abdul Basith is a right-handed batsman and also bowls off-spin. Abdul Basith has not played a single first-class match until now but has shown his talent for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.

Abdul Basith made his domestic cricket debut for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in October 2022. And then just one month later, he made his debut in List A cricket for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Haryana in November.

Due to his impressive performance in domestic cricket, Rajasthan Royals included Abdul Basith in their team in the 2023 IPL at a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Abdul Basith played his first IPL match in the 2023 IPL itself, But after that, till now he has been unable to play any other IPL match.

Abdul Basith Domestic Career

Abdul Basith made his domestic cricket debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy on 11 October 2022 against Arunachal Pradesh. The 2022 season was nothing special for Abdul Basith when he scored 109 runs in 8 matches at an average of 36.33, in which his highest score was an unbeaten 27 runs.

In the 2023 edition, Abdul Basith made an excellent comeback and scored 159 runs in eight matches at an average of 53.00, in which he also scored a half-century.

Just 1 month after making his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, Abdul Basith also started his List A career. He played his first game against Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 12th November 2022. Abdul Basith, who scored only 64 runs in the 2022 season, scored 172 runs in 8 matches at an average of 28.66 the next year.

Abdul Basith IPL Career

Due to his good performance in domestic leagues, Abdul Basith was added to the squad by Rajasthan Royals in the 2023 IPL for INR 20 lakh.

Abdul Basith played his first and only IPL game on 23 April 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy Stadium where he faced just one ball and scored one run.
