Tyler Reddick has slammed NASCAR for not reviewing Austin Dillon's move at Richmond and stripping him of the race win. Reddick said NASCAR's decision to not penalize Dillon for nudging Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin on the final lap will send a negative message to the younger generation.

On Sunday, August 11, Dillon right-hooked Logano to send him spinning and claimed the Cook Out 400 victory at the Richmond Raceway. With this, the RCR driver claimed his maiden win of the season.

The majority of the fans, experts, and former and current drivers have criticized Dillon and NASCAR. They believe allowing the RCR driver to have the win was erroneous.

"I'm worried about what this does for the young kids watching the sport, my kids watching the sport," Tyler Reddick said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. "My kid thinks it's Ok, because NASCAR thinks it's Ok. I needed to explain to him what happened, what's not okay that's the crazy precedence it is setting." (0:34-0:50)
"My four-year-old thinks it's okay to right hook somebody, potentially the driver's side, into a wall because NASCAR thinks it's Ok. That's what I have a problem with. If what happened last night is Ok at Richmond, why would it not be Ok at Phoenix to win the championship?" Tyler Reddick added. (0:51-1:06)

As the Richmond race went into overtime following a late caution, Joey Logano maximized his chance to take the lead after the restart. However, he had Austin Dillon behind him, who cut across the lane and rammed him from behind to claim the victory.

Like Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin also called NASCAR out after the governing body allowed Austin Dillon to keep his controversial Cook Out 400 win. Hamlin believes the RCR driver's victory on Sunday was not legitimate.

"I mean that's the thing is we have rules against you know to prevent ridiculous acts. But you know it's been long time since those rules really have been enforced," Hamlin said to journalist Bob Pokrass in the post-race interview. "There's no guardrails or rules that say don't do that. And there's no one in the tower that has any problem with it." (0:07-0:21, 1:08-1:17)

As Dillon rammed Logano, he sent him spinning and found a clear path ahead of him, which led him to victory. Meanwhile, the #3 driver also made contact with Denny Hamlin and sent him against the wall. Dillon has qualified for the 2024 NASCAR playoffs.
