WWE NXT Results: Cameraman interferes in main event; Pete Dunne's next title match announced

Bron Breakker kicked off NXT and announced that the brand will be back on the road starting April 2nd at NXT Stand & Deliver. Dolph Ziggler interrupted him and said that Breakker was barred from ringside for Ziggler's match with Tommaso Ciampa tonight before the show moved on.


WWE NXT Results (February 22nd, 2022): Grayson Waller vs. LA Knight

Grayson Waller fled the ring as the match began and LA Knight chased him around for a bit before Waller was hit with a knee and was dropped on the ropes. The match headed outside and a distraction from Sanga let Waller send Knight into the steel steps.

Grayson Waller missed the stunner and took a suplex before LA Knight got a neckbreaker in the corner. Knight was setting up for a big move but a distraction from Sanga allowed Waller to get the roll-up and pick up the win.

Result: Grayson Waller def. LA Knight

After the match, Knight went after Waller and Sanga got in his way. LA Knight hit both Sanga and Grayson Waller with his finisher before walking out.

Grade: B


Dakota Kai was trying to figure out why Wendy Choo wanted to team up with her as Toxic Attraction headed to the Toxic Lounge for the following match. We saw Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez train at a rope adventure park as NXT continued.


Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray vs. Lash Legend & Amari Miller on NXT

Lash Legend and Io Shirai kicked off the match and the former had the early advantage but was hit with a 619 and a missile dropkick. Amari Miller was tagged in and so was Kay Lee Ray and she got a big rollup as the match went on.

Ray hit the KLR Bomb on Legend before getting a top rope dive and making the tag. Shirai came in and hit her Moonsault finisher before picking up the win for her team.

Result: Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray def. Lash Legend & Amari Miller

Grade: B-

Dante Chen was backstage on NXT and said that he was looking for revenge against Duke Hudson tonight.


Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs were backstage on NXT and Briggs was setting Jensen up with an online dating profile.


Dante Chen vs. Duke Hudson on NXT

Dante Chen and Duke Hudson came out of the entrance ramp brawling and after the match was started in the ring, Chen got some big swings and a kick. Hudson took a DDT and went down for a near fall.

Chen took Hudson to the corner but was sent into the turnbuckles. The latter got a big boot and the Razor's Edge before picking up the win.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams were out next and they celebrated Melo's win over Cameron Grimes. Pete Dunne interrupted their promo and said that Melo hasn't beaten him yet.

Dunne wanted a title shot and they tried to reject the match but just as Melo was about to accept the challenge, Cameron Grimes rushed the ring and took out Trick and Melo.

Cameron Grimes vs. Trick Williams on NXT

Back after a break on NXT, Williams was taking a beating from Grimes in the ring. Cameron Grimes hit some big kicks and took down Trick Williams before getting a near fall. Trick got control of the match and sent Grimes into the corner before taking him down for a near fall.

He had a hold locked in but Grimes managed to get out of it and hit the knee in the corner. Cameron Grimes got a big move and another two-count before Trick Williams rolled out of the way of his finisher. Grimes a big dive to the outside before getting the win in the ring with the Cave-In.

Result: Cameron Grimes def. Trick Williams

Briggs and Jensen were trying to shoot a video for the latter's dating profile backstage. Bron Breakker went up to Tommaso Ciampa in the lockers and they argued about who was the better competitor between them.

Back at Chase University, Andre called out Robert Stone for ignoring his challenge before throwing one of his students out of the class for doubting his abilities.

Nikkita Lyons vs. Kayla Inlay on NXT

Nikkita Lyons was set to make her NXT debut and got the early advantage against Kayla Inlay with some big throws. Lyons got a hip toss and the Superman punch as the match continued.

Lyons got some big knees to the gut before hitting some more strikes and a splash in the corner. Inlay tried for a suplex but was tossed around once more before Lyons got the spinning kick and did the splits on Inlay for the win.

Duke Hudson and Persia Pirotta were backstage making out and Indi Hartwell walked in before Pirotta rushed off. It looked like Hudson was trying to stir up trouble between Lumis and Hartwell.


Robert Stone and Von Wagner showed up in a backstage promo and said that Andre Chase would have to file for disability after their match next week.

The Creed Brothers were out to celebrate their Dusty Cup win and Bivens called out Imperium right away. Gunther and his boys were out to talk trash about the Creed Brothers.

Gunther said that the NXT tag titles would remain with Imperium before a brawl broke out between Imperium and the Creeds. He was about to wipe out Bivens when Solo Sikoa came out and wiped out Gunther instead.


Briggs and Jensen were still trying to shoot their video when Fallon Henley came in and told them they could have just taken a photo instead.

Joe Gacy cut a strange and cryptic promo about newcomer Draco before NXT continued.


Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley on NXT

Kayden Carter and Tatum Paxley kicked off the match and tags were made early on before Ivy Nile came in and took control of the match with a double-team move. Carter came in and sent Paxley off the apron before getting a kick and a near fall.

Nile took out Carter with a kick and got a near fall of her own and tagged in Paxley for a Magic Killer. Catanzaro and Carter sent Nile out of the ring before picking up the win with a double-team move.

Result: Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter def. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

After the match, Ivy Nile was attacking Tatum Paxley and Roderick Strong came in to tell her to let off and they walked out.

Grade: B

Solo Sikoa and Bivens were backstage on NXT and Sikoa reminded Bivens that he attacked Gunther for his own benefit and not to save him.


Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler on NXT

Tommaso Ciampa tried for an early Fairytale Ending but it was denied before Dolph Ziggler unloaded on him on the mat. Ciampa took Ziggler out with some clotheslines and got some big strikes in before tossing him out of the ring with a huge knee.

Ziggler was still taking a beating when we returned after a break on NXT. He tried to fight back and they traded strikes before Ciampa unloaded on The Showoff with kicks in the corner.

Dolph Ziggler took a knee strike and a powerbomb but still managed to kick out. Ciampa set up for a second knee before Ziggler got a rope break with his leg. He got the ZigZag on the outside before they barely broke the count of 10.

Ciampa was locked in a hold but lifted Ziggler and dropped him before they traded kicks on the apron. Tommaso Ciampa hit the air raid crash on the apron before a man in black disguised as a cameraman came in and hit him with a camera.

The ref missed the distraction and it let Dolph Ziggler get the win with the superkick.

Result: Dolph Ziggler def. Tommaso Ciampa

After the match, the masked cameraman revealed himself to be Robert Roode and the Dirty Dawgs attacked Ciampa. Bron Breakker came out to make the save and after the Dawgs nearly walked out, they came back to the ring and a huge brawl broke out to close out the show.

We got the debut of Nikkita Lyons tonight as well as two big matches in the Women's Dusty Cup. We also got a premium live event-worthy main event on tonight's NXT between Tommaso Ciampa and Dolph Ziggler.
