Huge Triple Threat North American Championship Title Match main event on NXT
Huge Triple Threat North American Championship Title Match main event on NXT

NXT is starting to get very interesting with the Undisputed ERA seemingly hell bent on adding to their list of enemies on an hourly basis. However, the main event for this episode saw Ricochet defend his North American Championship against Pete Dunne and TUE's leader Adam Cole in a huge triple threat title match.

Also taking place on tonight's show was one-on-one action between two of NXT's less utilised stars, 'NXT's Finest' Kona Reeves and fairly new addition to the roster, Keith Lee as well as a verbal confrontation between Tomasso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream.

Finally, we got more development with the 'who attacked Aleister Black' storyline with Nikki Cross pretty much ready to spill the beans. Will we finally find out who the culprit of the car-park calamity is? Well, you'll have to read on to find out, we're obviously not going to give it away in the intro!

The show kicks off with Tomasso Ciampa making his way to the ring with his awesome entrance music, something he wasted no time in bragging about when he got into the ring. Ciampa called out Velveteen Dream, leading to Dream coming out.

Dream and Ciampa exchanged some angry words with Ciampa getting a 'Tough Enough' barb in and Dream calling Ciampa an angry little bald man. Unfortunately the two can't go at it verbally for long as they're interrupted by Nikki Cross.

Cross teased both Tomasso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream, she got into Dream's face and told him she knows what he did, and then she knocked the mic out of Ciampa's hand and said the same thing to him. Cross then left the ring saying "I know, I know" over and over. Whoever attacked Aleister Black had better watch out!

#2. Keith Lee Vs. Kona Reeves

Who emerged victorious following last week's backstage altercation?
Who emerged victorious following last week's backstage altercation?

This match came about due to a backstage altercations between Keith Lee and Kona Reeves where the latter disrespected the former when he tried to introduce himself by refusing to shake his hand and telling him to wait his turn.

Reeves trash talked Lee to start the match, but it didn't take long until Lee had the upper hand, hitting Reeves with a vicious chop to the bare chest. Reeves used the ring apron to gain the advantage and punished Lee for a while, but wasn't able to keep it up for long.

Unfortunately for Kona Reeves, despite his flash lifestyle and ability to 'talk-the-talk' he was once again unable to 'walk-the-walk' racking up another loss to 'Limitless' Keith Lee who picked up the victory with a Pounce, followed by a Supernova.

Result: Keith Lee Def. Kona Reeves

Baszler cuts a pretty decent promo about how she became a NXT champion faster than anyone else and has had a great year. She reveals that she overstepped her boundaries against Kairi Sane and made a mistake which is why Sane lost. However, she asserts that Sane didn't beat her, she lost the match, and will absolutely win the rematch.

Sane cuts a promo from her doorstep and says she isn't scared for Shayna Baszler and is going to beat her at Evolution.

#4. Kassius Ohno confronts William Regal

William Regal revealed that he was still looking at suspects for Aleister Black's attacker, but was perturbed by Nikki Cross not telling him. He is then confronted by Kassius Ohno when trying to enter his office.

Kassius asked Regal where his shiny new toy was because he meant what he said last week. Regal simply ignored Kassius and entered his office, leaving the 'Knockout Artist' seething outside his door.

We then find out there will be a huge NXT Tag-Team Title match between The Undisputed ERA and War Raiders on next week's show. We really are being spoiled with huge title matches on NXT at the moment. Also announced was Nikki Cross Vs. Bianca Belair in a rematch of their match from a couple of weeks ago.

#5. Pete Dunne Vs. Ricochet (c) Vs. Adam Cole - North American Championship Match

NXT Title Triple Threat match!
NXT Title Triple Threat match!

Was anyone not expecting this match to be anything other than phenomenal because it was phenomenal. So if you weren't expecting that and the quality of this match came as a surprise to you, then my word, where have you been?

Okay, the match begun with Ricochet and Dunne taking it in turns to rid Cole from the equation so that they could settle things amongst themselves, which made perfect sense given that everyone hates Adam Cole.

Adam Cole finally got into the match by attacking both guys. The match really got going from this point with all three men exchanging a series of incredible counters and moves against each other, a highlight being Dunne and Cole Super Kicking Ricochet out of the air during a Moonsault.

There's also a fantastic series of Moonsaults and Superkicks on the outside that eventually led to the three men exchanging big moves on the inside and hitting their respective finishers for some great near falls. However, Ricochet retains his title with a huge Springboard 450 to pin Dunne for the win.

Result: Ricochet Def. Pete Dunne and Adam Cole to retain the North American Title
