Welcome to the WWE News Roundup for September 29, 2024. We'll look at topics about Alexa Bliss and The Undertaker in today's edition.

Plus, what Trish Stratus said in Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries, Liv Morgan on Jey Uso, and more. Without further ado, let's begin:

#1 Liv Morgan addresses Jey Uso and Rhea Ripley's WWE RAW relationship

At WWE Bad Blood on October 5, Liv Morgan will defend her Women's World Championship against Rhea Ripley. Of course, a major focus of their storyline has been Dominik Mysterio, who is no longer Ripley's on-screen love interest.

With Mysterio taking Liv Morgan's side, Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso has entered the picture. Morgan spoke about Uso and Rhea Ripley in a recent interview:

"If he [Jey Uso] is enough to get Rhea to stop being so obsessed with my Daddy Dom, then I'm all for it. Just stay out of my business. Please get Rhea out of our hair," Liv Morgan told the New York Post. "It's becoming really obsessive and stalkerish and stage five clinger at this point."

Dominik Mysterio will be suspended in a shark cage during their match at Bad Blood. Liv Morgan added:

"You got [WWE RAW general manager] Adam [Pearce] to agree to a whole stipulation just to keep Dominik away? Are you kidding? Are you still in love with him, Rhea? So yes, Jey, please come and take all of her attention away because I'm ready to move on."

#2 Was Trish Stratus punished for refusing a WWE storyline request?

Trish Stratus was one of the many wrestling stars to appear in Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. The trending show, which dives into Vince McMahon's life and controversies, featured a segment where Stratus spoke about WWE's backstage culture during her time as an active competitor:

"There was a bit of a concern among performers that if you didn't do what you were asked, you would get punished. It did happen to some on occasion, sometimes [points at herself]."

Trish Stratus then recalled a particular instance of rejecting a storyline idea as women's champion. The WWE Hall of Famer questioned whether she lost her title as a result of that decision:

"There was one time where I was the champion and then suddenly I was in a scene where I was going to be making out with a female, which I didn't think my character wanted to do. Was it a coincidence that I lost the championship the next week? Maybe. Maybe I got punished. I'm not sure."

#3 Speculation on The Undertaker's in-ring return

Although The Undertaker is properly retired as of this writing, JBL recently suggested potential opponents for the wrestling legend, should he return for another match.

During a live Q&A session on Sportskeeda Wrestling's YouTube channel, JBL said:

"It could be a John Cena match or a Cody Rhodes match. I'm just talking about matchups. I have no personal information on any of this; I'm speculating. Fantasy booking here."

JBL mentioned that the size difference between The Undertaker and Cody Rhodes could make for an exciting showdown:

"You look at a great matchup because of the association with Dusty [Cody Rhodes' father], because of the legend Undertaker is, the size differential, and the way they work. They are both great workers. That would be a terrific match for The Undertaker."

#4 Former WWE Divas Champion wants to return for one more match

Layla retired from professional wrestling in 2015. Nine years after she left WWE, the former Divas Champion has expressed interest in returning at the Royal Rumble event.

Layla recently revealed she was invited to wrestle in the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble match. While appearing on They Made Their Way To The Ring, the 47-year-old star said:

"In the past, it was no. I was done. It was over for me. I was invited back in [2022] but I couldn't go. So it didn't work out. But honestly, I would like to go back. I think it would be fine, I think I should. Why shouldn't I go back? Just to go back again and see the fans and some people wanna see me come back, I think I would like to do that before I get too old. I don't wanna get hurt but one night, why not? I'd like to go back down memory lane."

With the all-women's Evolution pay-per-view in 2018 and many other developments, WWE has changed significantly since Layla last wrestled there. The former Divas Champion admitted that she hadn't watched Evolution yet:

"I was asked to one [Royal Rumble match]. I do remember it was a legends one. I was asked, but at that time I was completely shut off. I haven't watched Evolution. I will look at it now. I watched the Royal Rumble that I was asked to be a part of when Kelly Kelly and Melina came back."

#5 Alexa Bliss teases WWE comeback

It's been a long time since Alexa Bliss wrestled in WWE. Last November, she gave birth to a baby girl.

The popular star recently teased her return to World Wrestling Entertainment with the following message on Instagram:

"Don't worry, Darling. I’ll see you soon enough."

Interestingly, WWE also hinted at her comeback on RAW, as the Lilly doll was spotted by eagle-eyed fans in a backstage segment.

An update from PWInsider suggests that Alexa Bliss is not slated to make an immediate return. But it will be interesting to see if those plans accelerate.
