WWE News: Kofi Kingston gets his stitches removed

Kofi Kingston suffered an ankle injury a few weeks ago and hasn’t been on WWE TV with fellow New Day team mates.

What’s the story?

Kofi Kingston recently posted a photo on his Instagram account regarding his injury. Kingston also provided an update regarding his recovery in the caption of the photograph, hence clearing a lot of questions.

In case you didn’t know...

Kofi Kingston along with the rest of the New Day was sent to Smackdown LIVE as a part of the Superstar Shake-up. Kofi suffered an ankle injury a few weeks ago which has delayed the New Day Smackdown LIVE debut. However, WWE has been airing promos for their debut on the blue brand since the shake up.

The Heart of the matter

Kofi Kingston posted this photograph to his official Instagram account with this caption:

Stitches out. Next stop: Rehab City! (yes, there were only two stitches. Dr. Waldrop does good work!)

What’s next?

Kingston’s post indicates that he won’t take long to come back and The New Day might end up debuting in the near future, possibly in a week or two. New Day’s involvement in the Smackdown Tag Team division will surely elevate it’s prestige and put an end to the seemingly mundane segments in the division.

Author’s take

New Day’s transfer to the blue brand was seen as a very positive move by many as they were no longer needed on RAW. Kofi can take the backseat for some time and only participate in segments while Big E and Xavier Woods can work the matches.

It will be interesting to see how the New Day is used on the blue brand and how useful they become for it. The WWE Universe awaits the trio’s debut on the blue brand.
