What’s the story?

On this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, Dolph Ziggler was back at it again, mocking various Superstars’ entrances once again.

This week the “The Showoff” mocked the likes of Bayley, Shane McMahon and the late great Ultimate Warrior, but unfortunately for him, Ultimate Warrior’s wife Dana Warrior was sitting at ringside to witness Dolph’s act.

In case you didn’t know…

On 22nd August, Ziggler returned to Smackdown Live and announced that he will undergo a gimmick change, but said that the fans had to wait a little longer to witness his new gimmick.

On last week’s episode of Smackdown, Dolph finally showed the WWE audience his new gimmick, or at least a glimpse of it, when he mocked John Cena, Naomi and Randy Savage, and coming out to their theme songs and copying their entrances.

The heart of the matter

Dana Warrior was sitting at ringside during this week’s Smackdown episode when Dolph mocked the Hall of Famer’s entrance. The former Intercontinental champion first came out to Bayley’s theme song and mocked the former Raw Women’s champion, and followed it up by running down the ring, wearing the trademark tassels and the Ultimate Warrior’s mask.

Dana, who was present in the audience as a guest for the Mae Young Classic finale, seemed to be offended by it. But WWE probably would not have done it without her permission and approval.

What’s next?

Some fans may be wondering where this is going to lead Ziggler, but there is a feeling among many that this is probably leading to a match and feud with Smackdown’s latest signee, Bobby Roode.

It might be a matter of time before Dolph mocks the former NXT champion’s “Glorious” entrance, and with Hell in a Cell being three weeks away, there is plenty of time for the two men to start a feud and eventually face off in a match.

Author’s Take

For some fans, this new gimmick of Dolph Ziggler might feel a little crass. Meanwhile, we could be in store for a hugely entertaining match between Roode and Ziggler.

Ziggler is most likely going to put Roode over in their feud and it would be a nice touch if Roode’s first main roster PPV match takes place inside the Hell in a Cell. WWE could book a HIAC and put Roode over to make him look strong before he eventually goes after a championship in the main roster.
