NXT Heatwave is the final WWE event to bring a close to the action-packed Money in the Bank weekend. In the main event of the night, Trick Williams is set to defend his NXT Championship in a Fatal Four Way match against Ethan Page, Shawn Spears, and Je'Von Evans.
Je'Von has made a brilliant start to his NXT career and has been touted by many as the future of the industry. After only three months on NXT television, Je'Von has earned himself a title shot at a PLE, which is incredible considering he is only 20 years of age. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, on April 29, 2004, Je'Von Evans (Malachi Jeffers) started wrestling on the independent scene at the young age of 14.
The Young OG made a name for himself on the independent circuit with his spectacular high-flying work under the ring name Jay Malachi. Je'Von's talents caught the attention of major promotions, and he even wrestled a few times for AEW on their Dark show before eventually being signed by WWE in late 2023.
Je'Von made his NXT television debut on the April 9 episode earlier this year in a match against SCRYPTS. He recently won a 25-man Battle Royal to become the number one contender for Trick Williams' NXT Championship.
The star has also wrestled for Deadlock Pro-Wrestling, where he won the DPW Worlds Championship.
Je'Von Evans open to beating Randy Orton's long-standing WWE record
In 2004, Randy Orton made history by becoming the youngest World Champion in WWE history, defeating Chris Benoit at SummerSlam to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
In a recent interview, The Viper said that he doesn't see anyone breaking his record. However, Je'Von Evans might have other plans. Je'Von responded to Randy's comments on Twitter, stating that he respects Randy but loves a challenge, hinting at his intentions to break the long-standing record of becoming the youngest world champion.
"All Respect To You @RandyOrton But I Love A Challenge OG🙏🏾😏 ," Je'Von wrote.
At only 20 years of age, the NXT star certainly has the potential to become a major player in WWE. It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based company has planned for him moving forward.
