CM Punk's long-standing rivalry with Drew McIntyre is expected to be settled at the upcoming SummerSlam. If reports are to be believed, the match between Punk and McIntyre will have a special guest referee in the form of Seth Rollins.

The Architect, who recently lost his chance of re-capturing the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank is rumored to officiate the possible match between Punk and McIntyre. While fans will expect Rollins to be fair and just be a referee, there is a chance he could help The Best in the World beat McIntyre.

At SummerSlam 2024, the WWE Universe could be treated to a repeat of SummerSlam 1997. In the 1997 edition of the premium live event, The Undertaker defended the WWF Championship against Bret Hart with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee.

In that match, Michaels went to hit Bret Hart with a chair but accidentally ended up hitting The Undertaker. This led to Hart beating the Deadman and winning the WWF Championship. Similarly, at SummerSlam 2024, Seth Rollins could try to hit CM Punk. However, he could miss the Chicago native and end up hitting Drew McIntyre which would cost the Scotsman his match.

CM Punk was recently named as a mentor by RAW Superstar

Since returning to WWE, CM Punk seems to be having the time of his life. While Punk is doing some great work on RAW, he has also been spotted making an appearance backstage on NXT to help young talent. The former WWE Champion in many ways has become a mentor to young talent in the promotion.

Speaking on Getting Over: Wrestling Podcast, Bron Breakker named The Best in the World as one of his mentors alongside two other superstars.

"You know, Roman Reigns has been really great. You know, Paul Heyman. It's really the locker room, man. The locker room has welcomed me with open arms and any kind of questions or anything I've, CM Punk's another one. I mean everybody has been extremely welcoming of me. Everyone's willing to help and excited for me. Everybody wants to see everybody do well and succeed and it's a cool thing," Breakker said. [From 01:22:32 to 01:23:07]

The mentorship provided by Heyman, Punk, and Reigns seems to be working for Breakker as he is doing well on the Monday Night show. Given that the former NXT Champion and The Best in the World are on the same brand, it will be interesting to see if they cross paths in the future.
