Fans universally love some WWE Superstars. Now, there's talk surrounding the return of one such ex-star to the ring after almost one whole year of absence.
An ex-WWE Superstar may return to the ring when she's feeling 100% again. At least, that's what her partner, Shawn Spears, feels. Peyton Royce, aka Cassie Lee, has been gone from WWE for a long time now. As part of the IIconics with Billie Kay, she is one of the most universally loved stars. Outside the company, she still finds success.
Shawn Spears was recently on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, where he talked about the star's return to the ring. He said that she watched wrestling much more than she did and was getting the itch to wrestle - thus, she was weight training. He added that she planned to return to the ring when she felt good.
"She watches it a lot. She watches it more than I do. That doesn't mean I don't watch wrestling, it just means I'm busy a lot. I'm around, I can see a lot of stuff. Yeah, she keeps up on it," Spears said. "She still loves watching a lot of her friends, and she's still getting the itch. So she's already weight training, she's doing all that kind of stuff. She's getting back into the mix and things like that. When she feels 100% good to go there's a ring close by, so she plans on getting back into it."
Will Peyton Royce, aka Cassie Lee, return to WWE?
There's no clarification as to where Lee plans to return when she finally returns. The ex-WWE star does not yet know in what capacity she will return to wrestling, and no one has contacted her about it, be it IMPACT Wrestling or anyone else.
It's not to say that it's not a possibility, but there's no clarity for now. While this means that she could also return to WWE, Spears didn't say anything about it, and it seems to be a wait-and-watch situation.
"She doesn't know to what capacity, meaning no one said anything, no one said hey, when you ready, come on back. Like, not Impact, not anything, but with the working relationship. Who's to say that that's not a possibility? But yeah, she still misses it. I think she still has a little bit of an itch."
The star gave birth to the couple's second child in June, so fans may have to wait longer before confirming a return.
