A popular WWE Superstar reportedly received a lot of praise backstage following his match at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Drew McIntyre failed to become the World Heavyweight Champion at the premium live event.

The Scottish Warrior challenged Damian Priest for the championship at the PLE in Glasgow, Scotland and the two performers put forth an enthralling contest in the main event. The challenger nearly had the match won before CM Punk showed up to cost him the World Heavyweight Championship one more time.

Drew McIntyre headed into the show with his wife, Kaitlyn Frohnapfel, undergoing emergency surgery. The 39-year-old, however, did not lose his focus and wrestled a highly entertaining match. According to a recent report from PWInsider Elite, the former WWE Champion received a lot of praise backstage for his professionalism.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre makes huge revelation

Drew McIntyre is an integral part of WWE's roster. He signed a new deal with the global juggernaut earlier this year in April. However, the Scotsman recently revealed that he was considering taking a break when his contract was about to expire.

While speaking to RAW backstage interviewer Jackie Redmond, Drew McIntyre claimed he considered taking a break once his previous contract ended after his sister-in-law's death. He also stated how he felt after attending a family wedding and seeing his family and friends after a long time.

"To be completely truthful, I was considering taking time off at the end of my contract. I lost my sister-in-law, my wife's sister. And she was also struggling. My mother-in-law was struggling. And I went to a wedding back in Scotland, and I saw a lot of my family. And seeing a lot of people that I don't see that often, and I don't see my Dad often either. He's getting older. Seeing my nephew getting so big, seeing friends that I don't see often, it hit me hard, and I was trying to figure out what the best thing to do for my career and future was," he said. [3:31 - 3:59]
