CM Punk made his return to WWE last November. This week on WWE RAW, he and many other superstars put on a great show for the WWE Universe. A report claims that he and 30-year-old champion, Liv Morgan have been applauded for their performance on the recent episode of the red brand.

CM Punk made a heroic return to WWE moments before the Survivor Series WarGames Premium Live Event came to a close last year. Since then, he has feuded with Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. His feuds with the two WWE Superstars garnered a lot of fan interest before they could throw hands in a match.

On this week's episode of WWE RAW, the Second City Saint came out and challenged Drew McIntyre to a Strap Match. Moments later, McIntyre walked out and accepted Punk's challenge. The segment was met with a positive response from fans, and WWE management has taken note of the same. Another performance that made people backstage happy was that of Liv Morgan. Her intensity during the Terror Twins' beatdown reportedly resonated with many backstage.

"Here are a few notes from last night’s RAW, according to a source: The company has lots of praise for the South Florida crowd, who were very strong most of the night. The CM Punk promo came across well, highlighting the importance of WWE’s involvement with Fanatics Fest. Another standout moment was Liv Morgan’s performance during TJD’s attack—her intensity resonated backstage with many."

Was CM Punk supposed to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship?

CM Punk's return to WWE at Survivor Series WarGames was met with a livid reaction from Seth Rollins. The Visionary hated the fact that the former AEW star made his way back to the WWE and didn't hold back when he saw him on the ramp.

In the subsequent weeks after his return, the six-time World Champion would have heated arguments with Seth Rollins, possibly setting up a match against him at WrestleMania XL.

CM Punk failed to win the 2024 Royal Rumble and was injured in the process, putting him on the shelf for the majority of the year. Drew McIntyre went on to win the Elimination Chamber match and challenge Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, winning the title at the PLE. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Punk revealed that the original plan was to have him and Seth Rollins main event night one of WrestleMania XL for the title.
