The post-Clash at the Castle episode of WWE SmackDown could feature Nick Aldis signing a major star. The name in question is Drew McIntyre, who quit WWE earlier this week on RAW.
The Scottish Warrior got fed up and walked out of the Stamford-based promotion after he failed to capture the World Heavyweight Championship in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, because of CM Punk. The Best in the World appeared as a referee in the main event of Clash at the Castle and cost McIntyre the match.
Even though McIntyre quit WWE, it is a known fact that he recently signed a new deal with the company. This could allow Nick Aldis to persuade him to join SmackDown.
Nick Aldis, unlike Adam Pearce, also has things under control on his brand. RAW has been a chaotic show lately, with Bron Breakker wreaking havoc every week. The arrival of The Wyatt Sick6 just made things worse for Pearce.
Moreover, CM Punk is set to appear on SmackDown this week. Aldis could offer McIntyre an opportunity to settle the score with The Best in the World on the blue brand.
McIntyre moving from RAW to SmackDown is possible because WWE did something similar with Jey Uso last year. The former Right Hand Man, who was a part of the blue brand, quit the Stamford-based promotion after his fallout with The Bloodline and was signed by Adam Pearce to RAW a couple of months later.
Drew McIntyre could join TNA instead of WWE SmackDown
WWE has an ongoing partnership with TNA, which has allowed many top stars from the latter to appear in the Stamford-based promotion. However, TNA has not featured any major WWE name on any of their shows yet.
Drew McIntyre could be one of the biggest WWE stars to appear in TNA in the near future if he does not go to SmackDown. It would make him quitting on RAW more believable. Besides, he already worked for the Nashville-based company in the past, so a short run there as Drew Galloway would be a trip down memory lane for many fans.
TNA has already hinted at being interested in the return of McIntyre as the promotion's X (formerly Twitter) account shared a video of the former WWE Champion's debut in the Nashville-based promotion right after his major announcement on RAW.
Drew McIntyre deactivated his X account on Monday and has not commented on his future in pro wrestling yet.
