WWE Friday Night SmackDown was a big show last night. This episode of the blue brand, which aired on the USA Network, was the final show ahead of Bad Blood. As a result, the card was stacked.

AJ Styles made his return to television and even wrestled Carmelo Hayes. Additionally, a Tag Team Triple Threat Ladder Match featuring The Bloodline also headlined the show. If that wasn't enough, a Dumpster Match also took place pitting Chelsea Green against Michin.

As if all of that wasn't compelling enough, a vignette aired teasing the arrival of someone. Based on two sets of legs being shown, it implies two stars are coming. Additionally, there were several Detroit locations featured. This has led most to assume that the vignette is teasing the arrival of The Motor City Machine Guns.

With Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley having recently signed with the promotion, the pair could be debuting on SmackDown soon, especially if reports are to be believed. This article will take a look at a handful of ways the legendary indie tag team could arrive.

Below are four ways The Motor City Machine Guns could debut on WWE SmackDown.

#4. They could be introduced by Nick Aldis like Jade Cargill was

WWE stars can debut in numerous ways. Sometimes a talent will attack a superstar to kickstart a feud. In other cases, a performer could cut a promo on an unsuspecting target.

One of the more fun ways a wrestler can be introduced is via an authority figure. For example, Nick Aldis introduced WWE Friday Night SmackDown fans to Jade Cargill upon revealing she signed with the brand. The same happened with Bron Breakker. While some fans knew them already, this was an official intro.

The same might happen for The Motor City Machine Guns. Nick Aldis could come to the ring on SmackDown and go over their many accolades before officially calling Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley out to the ring to sign their SmackDown contract.

#3. They could have a squash match to show WWE fans their skills

As noted, being that there are many ways to debut, sometimes the best option is the most old-school and classic style. In this case, WWE and Nick Aldis could have The Motor City Machine Guns involved in a squash match.

For those unaware, a squash match used to be all too common in WWE. A wrestler or a tag team would battle local talent who are often outsized and outmatched. This allows the star to look even more impressive and show off their moves.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin could have an opportunity to do exactly that. Both are known for having numerous exciting moves, both as singles stars and as a tag team, so to show that off before a bigger bout could get fans more invested in the pair.

#2. They could have a dream rivalry with DIY

DIY are one of the best tag teams on the planet. The two started teaming up together upon joining WWE NXT where they went on to hold tag team gold. The pair then violently split up but reunited on the main roster last year.

Fast forward to 2024 and DIY have had an interesting run. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated A-Town Down Under to win the WWE Tag Team Titles. Unfortunately, they then lost the gold to The Bloodline and have failed to regain the titles.

Still, DIY remain one of the best tag teams in the world. This means a potential bout with The Motor City Machine Guns would rule. In fact, many fans consider it to be a dream match. Shelley and Sabin could debut by immediately having a match-of-the-year candidate with Ciampa and Gargano, perhaps leading to a full-on dream rivalry.

#1. The Motor City Machine Guns could challenge The Bloodline

As noted, The Bloodline won the WWE Tag Team Titles from Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. They did so initially as the duo of Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, but Fatu was later ordered to give his title up to Tonga Loa.

Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa have proven themselves to be formidable. The WWE Tag Team Champions have defeated both DIY and The Street Profits, including in an insane Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match just last night.

Seemingly, nobody can stop the former New Japan Pro-Wrestling stars, but that could be where Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin come in. The Motor City Machine Guns could debut and challenge the champions to a future title match. If The Bloodline doesn't accept, they look like cowards. Putting the two on the spot may be the move to advance quickly on the blue brand.
