This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was under the threat of getting a visit from Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks. The Uncle Howdy-led Wyatt Sicks arrived on the June 17, 2024, episode of Monday Night RAW and unleashed a brutal attack on several stars. Hence, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had to bring in extra security to ensure the show went on smoothly.

Ahead of the show, Aldis had taken to social media to announce that he would bring in extra security to protect SmackDown from the Wyatt Sicks, and while he did do that, the General Manager failed to consider the looming threat of Drew McIntyre possibly laying out CM Punk, who was advertised for the show.

Aldis was so focused on ensuring Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks didn't invade WWE SmackDown and lay down bodies backstage that he did not account for CM Punk's security, knowing the kind of threat The Voice of The Voiceless was under from Drew McIntyre.

Furthermore, CM Punk was a guest star on this week's episode of SmackDown. Hence, Aldis should have provided the former WWE Champion with better security to avoid a potential attack from The Scottish Warrior. This didn't happen, as Drew McIntyre brutally attacked The Best in The World backstage. The Second City Saint was left bleeding and had to be taken away in an ambulance.

While the ambulance left with CM Punk, Aldis looked visibly concerned about the situation.

CM Punk and Paul Heyman had a reunion on WWE SmackDown

The Best in The World kicked off the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown at Allstate Arena in Chicago. Fans were over the moon to see him work his magic on the microphone. Punk cut an intense promo where he addressed his actions at Clash at the Castle and his ongoing feud with Drew McIntyre before being interrupted by Paul Heyman.

The Wiseman entered the ring with Punk's permission and hugged him. The history between Heyman and Punk is immense, and their reunion in the ring took fans down memory lane. The WWE Hall of Famer interrupted his former client to inform him that Solo Sikoa did not appreciate Heyman referring to Chicago as Punk's city since The Enforcer wanted every city to be his.

Heyman pointed out to CM Punk that the extra security around the ring and arena was for Wyatt Sicks and not Solo Sikoa and his ruthless goons, before requesting The Voice of The Voiceless to leave. The duo was interrupted by Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.

Just when The Bloodline was about to attack Punk, Cody Rhodes entered the ring, forcing The Bloodline to retreat.
