A former WWE champion recently took to social media to share an interesting fan interaction after his career-changing moment against Randy Orton on Friday Night SmackDown. The champion in question is Carmelo Hayes.

On the June 21, 2024, edition of the blue brand, Hayes locked horns with Randy Orton and Tama Tonga in a Money in the Bank qualifier match. During the last stages of the bout, it looked like The Viper would reign supreme. However, Bloodline's Tanga Loa distracted The Legend Killer, and the former NXT Champion capitalized on the opportunity and stole the win by pinfall.

Carmelo Hayes recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an interesting interaction with a fan at an airport. Hayes wrote that the fan gave him free food because he pinned Orton on SmackDown.

"Just got free food at the airport. Bro said 'It’s free, you pinned Randy Orton. You’re Him.' This the type of energy I need in every city from now on," he wrote.

Carmelo Hayes shared his thoughts about pinning Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown

During a recent edition of The SmackDown LowDown, Carmelo Hayes said that he believed he should be called a "Legend Killer" after he pinned 14-time World Champion Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown.

"Yeah, I did pin Randy Orton. But come on Kayla, what did you expect? I'm Him. He is a 14-time champ, [a] legend killer. Maybe I should start calling myself a legend killer," he said.

Randy Orton is also set to compete at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The Viper will team up with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens to take on The Bloodline.

Many fans believe Orton's team would take the win but Jacob Fatu will show up after the match to take out The Bloodline's opponents. It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for the Six-Man Tag Team Match.
