WWE kicked off the tour of Mexico with a house show in Mexico City on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The show featured multiple title matches, with top stars from RAW and SmackDown in action.
The show started with the Intercontinental Championship match, as Sami Zayn put his coveted title on the line against Chad Gable. The latter has failed to win the gold multiple times in the past. Master Gable's luck did not change in Mexico City, as he was again on the losing end of his bout.
Next up, Liv Morgan successfully defended her Women's World Championship against Shayna Baszler. The champion went on to introduce Dominik Mysterio and stayed in his corner for his match against Rey Mysterio. However, the singles bout ended in DQ after an interference from Carlito.
Dragon Lee came out to make the save for the Hall of Famer, setting up a tag team match against Dominik and Carlito. Rey and Lee won the tag team contest.
Elsewhere on the show, Bayley defeated Bianca Belair to retain the WWE Women's Championship. Tiffany Stratton tried to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase on the champion afterward but was stopped by The EST. Damian Priest also successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso.
Former CMLL star Stephanie Vaquer made her debut after recently signing a contract with the company. Vaquer defeated the current Women's Tag Team Champion, Isla Dawn, in her debut match.
Dawn demanded another match after losing the first one. The challenge was accepted by Jade Cargill, who went on to hand another defeat to the champion.
The Bloodline was also in action in Mexico City as Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa defeated Randy Orton, LA Knight, and Andrade.
The event was headlined by Cody Rhodes, who faced Santos Escobar in the main event. Rhodes received much love from the local fans and did not disappoint them as he defeated the Legado Del Fantasma leader.
