The Rock is known for always doing what he wants to do without thinking of any consequences. This persona of his soared to a new height with his Final Boss gimmick after he was appointed a member of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings ahead of WrestleMania XL. However, WWE legend Jonathan Coachman revealed that The People’s Champ had defied Vince McMahon once and got away with it.

The Coach is one of the biggest names in the company and has entertained fans in various roles both inside and outside the ring. However, he recently revealed that the greatest night of his career was when he worked with The Rock on May 17, 2004.

Notably, Coachman had a segment where he berated Eugene, which prompted him to leave. However, The Great One made a major return and escorted Eugene back to the ring to continue the segment and wrestle The Coach and Garrison Cade later.

Responding to a video of this segment on X, Jonathan Coachman revealed how The Rock had defied the time limit set by Vince McMahon for the segment. He also explained that The Brahma Bull’s exit strategy was to avoid repercussions.

“Best night of my career. Schedule for 12 minutes. Told @TheRock it feels longer. He said and I have always remembered this “coach what have I always said. If it’s great there is nothing the boss can say”. Went over 23 minutes and the crowd was into every second. Snuck Rock in to arena in San Diego. Surprises are still what the business is built on. Period.”

The Rock recently made another surprise appearance in WWE

The Rock has a level of stardom that allows him to make fans' hearts swell with emotion even with sporadic appearances. The latest example of this was seen at WWE Bad Blood when The Final Boss entered the arena. The Great One arrived soon after Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, and The OTC handed Rhodes the Undisputed title.

The Great One had a belt of his own. He looked on at the uncanny partnership between the sworn enemies and raised one eyebrow. Then, without speaking, he made a counting gesture with his hands before indicating a neck slice and leaving the arena.

The Final Boss was the biggest threat to The American Nightmare at WrestleMania XL, and he failed to overcome him every time. Be it the beatdown in the parking lot or his tag team match against Roman Reigns and The Rock on Night One of WrestleMania XL alongside Seth Rollins. With the return of The People’s Champ, Rhodes has another enemy to take care of apart from The Bloodline and Kevin Owens.

It will be interesting to see if he is able to withstand all these enemies or if he will finally drop his hard-won title.
