WWE legend on one thing every wrestler can learn from Chris Jericho (Exclusive)

Chris Jericho earned legendary status in WWE before joining AEW in 2019. WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently explained why current wrestlers can learn a lot from the 53-year-old.

Jericho made his name in ECW and WCW in the 1990s before becoming one of WWE's top stars in 1999. He won several titles with the company, including the Intercontinental Championship a record nine times.

Long said on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine that Jericho is one of the few wrestlers whose credibility remains intact whether he wins or loses:

"And I've always give this to Chris Jericho. I always have to let people know, you can beat Chris Jericho one, two, three right in the middle, I mean, no screwjobs, nothing, right in the middle, and I can tell you he'll get right up from it and get his heat back and the people will forget about he ever lost. That's what you've got to learn how to do, take care, protect yourself, and Chris Jericho is one of the best. He can do that." [4:45 – 5:10]

Teddy Long thinks The New Day can take inspiration from Chris Jericho

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods unsuccessfully challenged Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championship on September 16. They lost to The Creed Brothers a week later before Woods earned a controversial win over Rey Mysterio on September 30.

Like Jericho, Teddy Long thinks the New Day members can show they are capable of staying relevant even after losing:

"They may be right now considered as mid-card guys, you know what I mean? And their job is to put guys over and to make guys look good, and in the process you can also make yourself look good too." [4:32 – 4:44]

Woods will challenge Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship on the October 7 episode of RAW. Uso originally granted Kingston a shot at his title but the former WWE Champion gave the opportunity to Woods.
