A WWE legend has recently become active in the pro wrestling business once again. Now, he seems to have his eyes on a major match in a big TNA event. Moreover, he dropped a new hint teasing a huge appearance, further confirming to the fans that WWE Hall of Famer JBL may soon be making a move.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth is set to defend his title against Joe Hendry at Bound for Glory. The Global Hero booked his ticket to the October 26, 2024, event following a grueling number one contender’s match against Frankie Kazarian. After having earned his title shot, however, Hendry expressed his concerns about WWE legend JBL to the world champ.

While the former Dolph Ziggler talked about Shawn Michaels and other legends believing in Joe Hendry, The Prestigious One argued that JBL believed in Nemeth instead. He also asks if the legend would be interfering in their title match at Bound for Glory.

Responding to this, the reigning champ said:

“Let me stop you right there. You're reading that situation wrong. I assure you, you don't need to worry about John Layfield. What you do need to worry about is the man who has stolen the show 20 years in a row every da*n night he's been on it. And I don't plan on losing this TNA title anytime soon,” said Nemeth.

Interestingly, JBL responded to a video of this segment uploaded by TNA on X. Moreover, he nullified Nemeth’s reassurances and posted a picture that would certainly increase Hendry’s worries about him.

JBL wants to see John Cena win another WWE Championship

While JBL has hinted that he wants Nemeth to remain the TNA champ, he recently said that he wants to see John Cena clinch the WWE Championship once more. Notably, The Leader of the Cenation is currently tied with Ric Flair for the highest number of WWE world title wins at 16. Moreover, the star has announced he will be retiring next year.

John Cena had started his count to 16 world championships by dethroning JBL to win his first world title. Speaking to a live Q&A on Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge, Layfield noted that Cena had to play the hardest role in the company. He noted how he had to fill the void left by the Attitude Era with something different.

The legend also conceded that nobody else could have done it better than Cena. He said that he would love to see Mr. You Can’t See Me pick up another world title win.

"I would, too, 100 percent. John Cena had the hardest role in wrestling history. He followed the Attitude Era, where you can flip off your boss and drink beer on television. You know, girls were out there sometimes wearing nothing. And he had to have a PG to G-rated era, and to be champion in that era, I don't know if anybody in the business would have done that except John Cena. It's incredible what he did. But yes, I'd love to see him win the 17th." [22:41 onwards]

It would be interesting to see Cena end his WWE career on a high and clinch another title to finally break the longstanding tie with The Nature Boy.
