A WWE Hall of Famer recently praised MVP for his work in the Stamford-based company and shared his honest reaction to the former United States Champion joining AEW. The name in question is Booker T.

Montel Vontavious Porter made his first appearance on AEW this Wednesday on Dynamite: Grand Slam. He interrupted Prince Nana to offer his managerial services to Swerve Strickland. The 50-year-old questioned the former AEW World Champion's current management following the latter's recent losses.

On the most recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T reflected on how MVP was an integral part of WWE during the pandemic as a part of The Hurt Business. The 59-year-old claimed that the former tag team champion is similar to the legendary Paul Heyman.

"MVP is a guy who, during the pandemic, was one of the MVPs. He did some hell of a work during that time as well as with Bobby Lashley in The Hurt Business. He did some really, really good work. He really did. So, for me to have someone like MVP to be able to carry that mantle because he does it and he does it well, for that reason and that reason only, like a Paul Heyman," he said.

The WWE Hall of Famer also pointed out that MVP can hype anyone without entering the squared circle. Booker added that he was glad to see the latter in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

"We have very few guys who can step into that position that can actually go out there and make somebody look good, and they don’t even have to get in the ring to actually do it. That’s MVP. So give that guy his shine as far as being that guy who can go out there and get that done with these young guys. For me, I’m glad to see him be there." [H/T - Wrestlingnews.co]

MVP and WWE parted ways earlier this year

MVP left WWE after his contract with the wrestling promotion ended on August 16. Despite being signed with the company, the veteran performer had not made an in-ring appearance in over two years.

The former Hurt Business member recently underwent stem cell treatment, hoping to get back to the squared circle. Unfortunately, he parted ways with the wrestling promotion before he could get back into the ring. Like MVP, his fellow stablemate Bobby Lashley also waved goodbye to the global juggernaut.

Many wrestling fans expect Bobby Lashley to join MVP in AEW alongside their former stablemate, Shelton Benjamin. It remains to be seen if the former WWE Superstars will re-align themselves to form The Hurt Business.
