Recent rumors have suggested that two WWE stars, Bobby Lashley and MVP, may be leaving the company soon. Considering their history together as The Hurt Business stable, many expect them to continue in AEW if they join the promotion.
Over the last few weeks, there has been much speculation about what is next for MVP and Bobby Lashley if they leave WWE. As expected, AEW stands as the most viable option for them. According to Hall of Famer Teddy Long, it is quite possible that Tony Khan can bring them in, which leads to the question of how they will be presented in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, the Hall of Famer stated that MVP and Lashley can't go by the name The Hurt Business if they possibly join All Elite Wrestling. The veteran said that the promotion needs to create something different and new for the stars.
"That's a possibility because every man needs a paycheck... The other thing too you know. I'd like to see 'em there but then in a way I wouldn't like to see 'em there because if they go there, now it's gonna be like how they are going to be used. They can't go in there, like Bill said, they can't use the name The Hurt Business. Like I said, I wouldn't even recreate that. I'd create something brand new for AEW. That's what I would do." Bill Apter thinks Bobby Lashley is not going to leave WWE
While reports may claim otherwise, Bill Apter believes that WWE will want to retain Bobby Lashley after his contract expires.
Speaking on the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, the veteran journalist talked about how the creative department had let down the former World Champion. He stated:
"Bobby Lashley is a magnificent athlete. He comes out to the ring when he is not wrestling, in a suit he looks like a fine person in the WWE. He demands respect. You can feel the respect there. Even though they gave him a championship, I don't think they've given him enough. I think he should still be in that top tier. I think they could have done a lot more with him. But I don't see him leaving, I think he is gonna stay there." [1:22 onwards]
