WWE has called out a major star on social media today after he tried to instigate interference in a major title match at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Tonight's edition of RAW will be the first show following the premium live event over the weekend.

Sami Zayn defended his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable at the premium live event. Gable has become obsessed with capturing the title, and it has led to friction within Alpha Academy. Ahead of tonight's episode of RAW, the promotion shared a video of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett on commentary during the match.

On Saturday night in Glasgow, Maxxine Dupri had the title in her hands and went to hit Zayn but stopped herself. Michael Cole shouted for Dupri to not hit the champion, but Barrett urged the 27-year-old to swing away by shouting, "Do it!" as seen in the video below. The Stamford-based promotion in its post appeared to call out Barrett for trying to instigate Dupri.

"Why are you trying to instigate, @stubennettofficial??" wrote WWE on Instagram.

Sami Zayn has been trying to talk some sense into The Alpha Academy members in recent weeks on RAW. Chad Gable has turned heel and has belittled his stablemates for weeks. In the end, Dupri did not hit Zayn with the title but was knocked off the ring apron by Gable. Otis carried Dupri to the back, and the distraction allowed Zayn to connect with the Helluva Kick for the pinfall victory.

Vince Russo criticizes WWE for how they have booked Chad Gable in the past

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently called out WWE for how they have featured Chad Gable before his heel turn.

Speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, the veteran stated that Gable has become one of the most despised superstars on the roster. He noted that the former Olympian has excelled as a heel on WWE television, and criticized the promotion for his previous gimmicks.

"The person probably with the most heat right now is Chad Gable. I mean, he's got heat. There's no question about it. He's got heat and he's very good. The 'Shoosh' stuff was absolutely ridiculous and stupid. He is very, very good and solid in this role," said Russo. [From 15:12 onwards]

Chad Gable has failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship on numerous occasions now. It will be interesting to see when the veteran gets another opportunity at the title moving forward on WWE RAW.
