WWE Superstar Carmelo Hayes made his transition from NXT to SmackDown during Draft 2024. Trick Williams recently opened up about his former on-screen rival's main roster run.

At Vengeance Day 2024, Ilja Dragunov retained his NXT Title against Williams in a singles match. Following the bout, Hayes turned heel and attacked his then-friend with a steel chair.

The friends-turned-foes collided in a Steel Cage match on NXT in April 2024, following a remarkable contest at Stand & Deliver. In both bouts, Williams defeated Melo before the latter moved to Friday Night SmackDown.

During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Trick Williams was asked to share his two cents on the 30-year-old star's main roster run so far. The Columbia native acknowledged their past disagreements on WWE TV but ultimately expressed happiness for Carmelo Hayes' success.

Williams compared his feud with Hayes to the legendary hip-hop rivalry between Easy E and Ice Cube. He mentioned that conflicts could happen when two strong personalities compete for the top spot.

"I’m happy for Melo. You know, we had our odds about the whole situation, but I feel like sometimes, man, you got two alpha males, two guys who want to be the greatest, two guys who want to be the face of a brand, like, what you expect to happen? You know, we saw this happen with Easy E and Ice Cube," Williams said. (H/T - CVV)
