Rikishi recently shared his relationship with a couple of WWE Hall of Famers when they worked together back in the 1990s. The real-life member of The Bloodline revealed how close he was to The Steiner Brothers, Scott and Rick, as well as their reputation backstage.
The Anoa'i Family and Steiner Family have just revisited their history as part of the feud between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker. Jey is the son of Rikishi, while Bron is the son of Rick Steiner.
On the latest episode of Rikishi's Off The Top podcast, the former Intercontinental Champion revisited his time teaming up with Samu and working with Scott and Rick Steiner before they made it in WWE.
Rikishi shared how the Steiner brothers were hilarious and always ribbing people backstage. It was far from their reputation as tough guys, although barely anyone would react if they got ribbed by them since they knew they couldn't mess with Scott and Rick.

"My fondest memory of these guys here as bad (and) as tough as they were on TV on screen, they were just the funniest cats in the back. The type of cats that just laugh and rib people, but they would rib people knowing that the people are not going to rib them back cause they were scared to get their a** whooped," Rikishi said. The Fatus and the Steiners have known each other since the late 1980s when they began working together for matches in the territories. They also worked together in WCW and WWE and had their last match against each other on November 1st, 1993, at a WWE house show.
Rikishi praises Jey Uso and Bron Breakker for bringing up family history on WWE TV
In the same episode of the Off The Top podcast, Rikishi was very happy to see his son Jey Uso and Bron Breakker bring up the history between The Headshrinkers and The Steiner Brothers. He felt proud that both stars acknowledged their "bloodlines" no matter how big or small it was.
"Both of them have been doing their homework. You can tell they're both passionate about it. You can tell that they have responsibility because you cannot get away from where your bloodline comes. Be it a big bloodline or a small bloodline, it's still the bloodline, and they're going to have to mention you. … It only makes sense that people's going to know you, where you come from. So I'm sure that Rick Steiner was happy, Scott was happy, because we used to mix it up together," Rikishi said. [18:52 - 19:35 from the video above]
Jey Uso prevailed last Monday on RAW, winning his first singles title after beating Bron Breakker in the main event to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
