Roman Reigns returning at WWE SummerSlam was one of the biggest surprises of the year so far, judging by the fan reaction. A Hall of Famer recently spoke about the original Tribal Chief's standing on the roster, claiming that it did not matter if he was a heel or a babyface.

Roman Reigns' run as a babyface before The Bloodline did not pan out well, as he did not get over with the audience. However, his heel phase saw him rise up the ranks quickly to become the face of the company. His return at SummerSlam, however, seems to have turned him back to babyface.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long stated that it did not matter if Roman was perceived as a babyface or a heel.

"It really doesn't make any difference. You know what I mean, whether he is a babyface or a heel. He is an entertainer, and that's what he does best. If he comes across as a heel, they don't care. They love it. They sing that song all day and all night." [4:36 onwards]

A WWE veteran believes Roman Reigns may join RAW

While Roman is primarily seen on WWE SmackDown, former RAW Talk host Matt Camp thinks he may switch brands after his return.

The original Tribal Chief was exempted from the Draft of this year, meaning he is technically a free agent. As such, he could possibly make more appearances on any brand he chooses. Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Matt Camp stated:

"Yes, he [Roman Reigns] is a free agent. Yes, they made a point to get him out of the draft. Because the draft happened after he had lost the title, it makes all the sense in the world. No problem. So, he's out there. Sure, he could be on RAW Monday. I don't know if that's gonna be the case, but it does allow, if he remains a free agent, him to show up on RAW and maybe stay there once the Netflix deal starts," he said. [26:23-26:51]
