WWE Superstar The Miz betrayed R-Truth to turn heel on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. The A-Lister recently shared a social media update addressing his actions.

R-Truth was forced out of action following a brutal attack from Bronson Reed on the August 12 edition of the red brand's show. The 52-year-old returned to WWE television last night. He teamed up with The Miz to take on The Authors of Pain.

During the match, The Miz kicked his tag team partner and left the ring, leaving Truth alone, which allowed Akam and Rezar to secure the win. The duo's stablemate, Karrion Kross, who had been trying to corrupt The Miz, seemed ecstatic at the latter's actions.

The Awesome One recently took to his Instagram account to post two contrasting pictures from the show. The first one is from his backstage conversation with Truth, while the other is from the match after he kicked his teammate.

The Miz claims he likes playing a heel character

The Miz has been highly successful while portraying heel characters. He won his first WWE Champions in the middle of an impressive heel run. The 43-year-old has been a bad guy on television for the vast majority of his wrestling career.

While speaking on Cody Rhodes' What Do You Wanna Talk About YouTube show earlier this year, The Miz claimed he loves getting booed by the fans. He pointed out that the only thing he doesn't like about being a heel is that the merchandise sales are lower. The 8-time Intercontinental Champion added that the only reason behind his being a babyface was his association with R-Truth, one of the most beloved stars on the roster:

"I love being booed. It's crazy that some people don't like it. The only thing I don't like is maybe my T-shirts don't sell, right? My merchandise doesn't sell, and that's a big thing when you're negotiating contracts and stuff. It's like a big metric, and it's like, well, I'm a bad guy. My job is to make them hate me so much that they don't buy my T-shirts and stuff. But you want them to buy your T-shirts but can't stand you, right? So, I mean, I like being a heel. I like being a bad guy. But the only reason I am a babyface right now is because of R-Truth. R-Truth just makes anyone he's around, like, the biggest babyface. Because he's just funny, charismatic, entertaining, and just fun to be around," he said. [From 25:23 onwards]

Awesome Truth won the tag team championship in the Six-Pack Ladder Match at WrestleMania XL. The tiles were later renamed the World Tag Team Championships. With the A-Lister finally turning heel, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the two experienced performers.
