Teddy Long is the definition of a team player and had a fruitful career in WWE. He had the philosophy of never saying no to anything Vince McMahon asked of him and on the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, he revealed why.

The topic of discussion between host Mac Davis, Bill Apter, and Teddy Long, was the tease of the romantic storyline between Jey Uso and Rhea Ripley. Long admitted that he understood Rikishi's criticism of the story because he got into trouble with his wife, who believed that his 2007 romantic story with Kristal Marshall was real.

Mac Davis asked Teddy Long if there was ever a situation where he or any other talent could go to the people in charge and simply refuse to do what was asked of them. Teddy responded by saying:

"Well, no, you couldn't have done that. You already know it's not real. So why would you say you'll not do it. In my philosophy, I always told you - I always did what was asked of me because if I didn't, Vince [McMahon] would do it." (4:06-4:28)

Teddy Long was full of praise for Jacob Fatu following his WWE debut

Jacob Fatu had the best imaginable debut on SmackDown in late June in Madison Square Garden. It was a sign of things to come and he's lived up to the hype and more so far.

Fatu is one of the rare talents who have had several others publicly vouching for them even before he signed with WWE. Names like Jim Cornette and Booker T were hyping him up for a while before he signed.

On an earlier episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long praised Jacob Fatu's debut as one of the greatest he's seen in a long time:

"I thought it was one of the greatest entrances I've seen in a long, long time," Long said. "He came in and he did business. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. Not only do you show up, you show out, and that's exactly what he did." [1:53 – 2:09]

So far, Jacob Fatu hasn't yet interacted with Roman Reigns, even though they were in the same arena this past weekend. This was likely done by design.
