Former Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley appears to have fallen below the ranks in WWE despite still being incredibly over. This has everything to do with current titleholder Liv Morgan, who has made it her life's mission to destroy Mami. With no match on the horizon, as the promotion builds toward Crown Jewel, Ripley took a moment to reflect on life at home with her husband, AEW's Buddy Matthews.

Buddy Matthews and Rhea Ripley tied the knot on June 23, 2024. He was previously signed to WWE between 2013 and 2021, where he wrestled under the ring name Buddy Murphy. Matthews was involved in a noteworthy program with Seth Rollins before leaving the company. The two even held the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship at one point.

Rhea recently took a shot at her husband by sharing a hilarious reel on his Instagram story. The post had a caption that said, "When you've finally finished cleaning, but you have a husband." The reel shows the husband spilling his protein powder, and the wife uses his face to clean that up.

Rhea Ripley says Buddy Matthews "hit a peak" in WWE

Rhea Ripley discussed her husband, Buddy Matthews, when she appeared on Logan Paul's ImPaulsive podcast. She looked back to Buddy's run in WWE, saying that he "hit a peak" and it was time to leave.

The 28-year-old Australian wrestler also noted that while her husband is "slowly growing" in AEW, Tony Khan's wrestling promotion does not stand a chance, nor does any other, when compared to WWE:

"He’s been wrestling for a long, long time and he knows that like when he was in WWE, he hit a peak there. And then over in AEW as well, he’s doing well and it’s slowly growing. Like The House of Black is slowly growing and getting more steam, but he also knows that at the end of the day that the platform that I’m on, this might make a lot of people mad, but it’s obviously higher."

Buddy Matthews made his AEW debut in February 2022. He has since been a member of the House of Black stable and has held the AEW World Trios Championship once.
