A popular SmackDown Superstar recently opened up about the real reason behind his loss to the WWE United States Champion, LA Knight, stating his case for a rematch. The star challenged Knight for the title on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The WWE Superstar in question, Carmelo Hayes, earned a shot at the United States Championship after he defeated AJ Styles last week via referee stoppage due to The Phenomenal One getting injured during the match. Unfortunately, Melo could not dethrone The Megastar.

WWE recently shared a video of Carmelo Hayes claiming he lost to LA Knight because he was not a hundred percent going into the match. He added he would rest properly for a week and continue pursuing the US Title. The former NXT Champion is scheduled to face Andrade in a number one contender's match next Friday.

LA Knight sends a message to Carmelo Hayes and Andrade following successful title defense on WWE SmackDown

LA Knight has defended the WWE United States Championship four times since he won it at SummerSlam against Logan Paul. The Megastar recently sent a message to the two most recent challengers he faced.

LA Knight took to his X/Twitter account to share a video of himself issuing a warning to Carmelo and Andrade ahead of their number one contendership match. The champion pointed out he had beaten both stars and would do it again. He asked other WWE Superstars to step up and face him for the title.

"The bottom line is, Melo, Andrade, everybody's coming for this [United States Title]. Why is that? Because everybody wants it. Why you should [sic] want it? Look at it. It's beautiful, but it's mine. Unfortunately, the way that goes is you catch BFT, you catch three the hard way, and what that means is I've beaten both of you; I don't know why you're still knocking on my door. If you need to get beat again, you will get beat again. The bottom line is, I hit, I quit it. New challengers, come on up," he said.

In their ongoing rivalry, Carmelo Hayes and Andrade will face off for the seventh time next week. With LA Knight having successfully defended his title against both stars, it remains to be seen who will face The Megastar one more time.
