A major backstage name who was responsible for the recent Bloodline storyline was also the mastermind behind The Undertaker's impressive streak at WrestleMania. Senior WWE official Bruce Prichard claimed that Michael "P.S." Hayes helped create The Streak back in the day.

The Undertaker has an overall WrestleMania record of 25-2, with his final bout being a Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 Night One against AJ Styles. Before losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, the legendary superstar had a 21-0 record at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

On the latest episode of Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, WWE's Executive Director revealed that The Streak was brought to the table by Michael Hayes. People in charge were initially not paying attention to the record until Hayes pointed out that The Streak could be turned into a long story.

"The Streak kind of came up from Michael Hayes. You know Michael always had tidbits of information that Michael would kind of throw out [and] say, 'Hey, you know The Undertaker's undefeated at WrestleMania. Something we can do with that. There's a story there.' He would push that all the time until finally that streak had built up to being meaningful and hence The Streak," Prichard said. [37:22 - 37:53]

The Undertaker's streak ended at the hands of Brock Lesnar, who was already an established superstar when it happened. The Phenom's second loss at WrestleMania came in 2017 against Roman Reigns.

The Undertaker thought Roman Reigns should have broken The Streak

Speaking to the Dallas Morning News in 2021, The Undertaker opened up about The Streak and how he wished Roman Reigns had ended it. Reigns did beat The Deadman at WrestleMania, but it could have had more meaning if he broke The Streak rather than Brock Lesnar.

"I don’t know that Brock needed that win. Brock was a bona fide superstar at that point. So, I don’t know that he needed it. Roman [Reigns defeating Undertaker at WM33] definitely, was the right call. I just wish he may have been first. I wish I could have reversed them, you know what I’m saying? If Roman would have been able to do it, I think it would have increased the value," the WWE legend said.

Since retiring from wrestling, The Deadman has broken kayfabe to become Mark Calaway. He's now a podcaster and YouTuber, which is something that fans didn't anticipate happening.
