He has not been associated with the WWE for nearly six years, as the last time he was in the company was during the Vince McMahon regime. Jonathan Coachman might have learned much from Mr. McMahon, but he doesn't wish to speak about him in 2024.

Vince McMahon, who once booked himself as world champion, has been away from pro wrestling since being accused of sexual misconduct by former WWE employee Janel Grant. Jonathan Coachman last worked with WWE in 2018 and has been vocal about his issues with McMahon. The Coach spoke to Sportskeeda's very own Bill Apter and was asked about the former Chairman of the company.

The former commentator initially resisted talking about Vince McMahon for apparent reasons. Coachman, however, recalled spending a lot of time with McMahon and picking up some valuable lessons in wrestling:

"I don't really have any thoughts about him [Vince McMahon] in 2024 to be honest with you. I don't like to comment on him because, at one point, I was around him a lot, and I took a lot from what he taught us." [From 01:16 to 01:30]

Coachman focused on the positives and said being with Vince McMahon taught him the importance of working hard. During his first full-time WWE run, which lasted nearly a decade, Jonathan Coachman was proud to have missed only one RAW taping.

Coachman did harbor regrets over not speaking up against Vince McMahon, as the personnel just couldn't stand up to the former boss. He continued:

"Oh, the positive stuff is learning how the red light comes on, timing, emphasis, storytelling, and all of that kind of makes high-level pro wrestling what it is. And also the grind. We were forced into the grind, and in my first ten-year run, I only missed one Monday night. I look back on it now, and there are a lot of regrets as far as things I missed because we couldn't stand up for ourselves." [From 01:32 to 01:58]

Jonathan Coachman reveals a WWE incident involving Vince McMahon

Many former and current WWE personalities have admitted that working for Vince McMahon was often challenging. McMahon worked at odd hours and, as Jonathan Coachman revealed, would call in his employees on short notice.

Coachman stated that he once had to fly out of his home on Christmas Eve just for a shoot, and he wished he would have refused to make the travel for Vince McMahon.

"I was on Christmas Eve back home in Kansas, and I got a call to come back and shoot something in Connecticut because he wanted to go to Florida with his family and really didn't care about my family. So I did it because I never told him; I only told him no once, and I got beat up for that, so it is what it is." [From 02:01 to 02:21]

The one time Jonathan Coachman turned down McMahon resulted in a WWE legend beating him up as punishment. As noted, dealing with the former WWE head honcho wasn't always the best experience.
