"I didn't even care" – WWE legend on Bron Breakker losing to Sami Zayn (Exclusive)

Sami Zayn defeated Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank on July 6 to retain the Intercontinental Championship. In an exclusive interview, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on the surprisingly decisive match outcome.

In recent months, Breakker has been presented as an unstoppable force on RAW. The 26-year-old was tipped by many to dethrone Zayn at the premium live event. However, he lost clean via pinfall after receiving his opponent's Helluva Kick finisher.

Bischoff told Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter that Breakker's credibility was not damaged despite the defeat:

"I didn't even care. Admittedly, I look at wrestling a little differently than the average wrestling fan. I'm always looking at it from a producer's point of view, and sometimes the audience doesn't look at it that way, so I gotta remind myself of that." [6:06 – 6:21]

Bischoff believes WWE's higher-ups made the right decision by booking Zayn to win the 13-minute bout:

"But, watching that match, I felt that Bron came out better. In fact, I'm a hundred percent sure, from my point of view, the decision they made with Bron that night was a hundred percent the right decision. Anything else would have been rushing it, and he's a diamond, man." [6:25 – 6:46]

Why Eric Bischoff likes WWE's booking of Bron Breakker

On August 3, Bron Breakker will receive another Intercontinental Championship opportunity against Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.

If Breakker wins the title, Eric Bischoff believes fans will appreciate the victory more following his Money in the Bank setback:

"Make the audience want it for him. Don't give the audience what they want right away. Make them almost demand it so that when they get it they'll even be more excited about it." [5:29 – 5:42]

Breakker is a two-time NXT Champion and a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Baron Corbin. He has not yet held a WWE main roster title.
