Bob Backlund is one of the greatest WWE Champions in history. However, at 74 years old, he doesn't seem to be doing well, as a tweet has revealed a heartbreaking health update.

The WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund belongs to an elite group of talent. He's one of the only men to have a World Championship reign longer than Roman Reigns, alongside Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan. He was even briefly WWE Champion again in 1994, only to lose it in seconds to Kevin Nash.

Twitter user IANdrew Dice Clay was at a live signing that Bret Hart was a part of, and he found out that the WWE legend Bob Backlund is suffering from dementia and is living with his sister in Florida.

It's heartbreaking to hear of Backlund's condition as he approaches his mid-70s. Dementia is no joke. Unfortunately, most wrestlers from Backlund's generation suffered physically and mentally - which is what led to the high use of drugs and alcohol back then.

As IANdrew Dice Clay's tweet mentions, it seems like everybody has to suffer in professional wrestling. This is especially true for old-timers who have been dealing with the horrific fallout of years of brain damage.

We at Sportskeeda wish Backlund the best in his battle with Dementia.
