Hall of Famer comments on rumors of Samantha Irvin leaving WWE: "She might have heat with somebody" (Exclusive)

With Ricochet seemingly heading out of WWE, rumors of another star, Samantha Irvin, parting ways with the company have been making the rounds recently. While there is no official confirmation yet, Hall of Famer Teddy Long thinks there can be any number of reasons for the star leaving, if she does decide to leave.

Samantha Irvin is one of the most talented ring announcers in the company's history. Considering that Ricochet and Samantha are engaged, reports of the former leaving the promotion was swiftly followed by speculation about her doing the same. However, it should be noted that no such decision has yet been officially declared.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long stated that it was futile to make such speculations at this point.

"You don't know what is really going on behind the scenes. It might not be just for contract. It might be you know, she might have heat with somebody. Or she might be not happy with the way she is being treated backstage. See all we see, as fans, all they see is the TV side. Okay? [...] If there's no heat, nothing there, she could stay on and collect her cheque. We just don't know. We have to see how it plays out." [1:00 onwards]

Another WWE Superstar does not want Samantha Irvin to leave the company

While Samantha is not an in-ring star, she is close to several active WWE wrestlers. One of those is Chelsea Green, who seems to have taken a liking to her.

In a recent interview with Gorilla Position, Chelsea commented on the rumors of Samantha heading out of WWE:

"She better not! Oh my God! Don't say words like that. Don't even put that into the universe. I love her so much. She's so talented. We need her. We need her," she said. [0:42 - 0:51]

As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Samantha Irvin in her career.
