A former WWE Superstar is not a fan of how Jey Uso has been booked in the main event picture ever since he broke away from The Bloodline. Matthew Rehwoldt, formerly known as Aiden English, discussed his view on the "unfortunate joke" that is Main Event Jey's booking.

Jey has been one of the most popular superstars in the company despite not winning any singles titles since leaving The Bloodline. Fans seem to love him, given that he always comes out to a huge pop. He recently set his sights on the Intercontinental Championship currently held by Bron Breakker.

On a recent episode of the Rebooked podcast, Rehwoldt shared his thoughts on how WWE has booked Jey over the past year. He called it an "unfortunate joke" since they made the 39-year-old a loser in almost every big match or title bout he was in.

"He's like the uncrowned prince and the joke has been, you know it's an unfortunate joke, and because I don't really like it but the idea is he's Main Event Jey Uso that never wins the main event. He will [win] in tag matches and stuff like that but when the title or when something like Money in the Bank or King of the Ring or whatever is on the line, they always go in a different direction," Rehwoldt said. It has been more than a year since Jey Uso joined WWE RAW, but his biggest win so far is against his twin brother Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40. He failed to beat Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash 2024. He also came up short in winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and the King of the Ring Tournament.

What's next for Jey Uso?

Jey Uso is pursuing the Intercontinental Championship ahead of WWE Bad Blood in the first week of October. Jey defeated Karrion Kross and Kofi Kingston in a Triple Threat Match two weeks ago on RAW to qualify for the Fatal Four-Way Final next Monday.

Main Event Jey will face Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Braun Strowman for an opportunity to challenge Bron Breakker for his Intercontinental Championship. The Yeet Master already had a backstage confrontation with Breakker, who brought up the history between their families.

Jey Uso is a 10-time WWE Tag Team Champion, winning eight of them with Jimmy Uso and two with Cody Rhodes. His lone singles accolade is the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal win in 2021.
