WWE Superstar Jey Uso recently won the Intercontinental Championship after a singles title drought of 14 years. The Uce has now said that he will be defending his title every week on RAW. As he heads into the first title defense of his reign, a former WWE Champion reacted to the teaser of the match scheduled to be held in St. Louis. The name in question is Kofi Kingston.

The New Day member is rooting for his teammate Xavier Woods for his title shot against Jey Uso. Notably, Kingston was originally picked by Mr. Yeet as his first challenger. However, the former world champion insisted he give the chance to Woods. Now, as WWE teases the match ahead of RAW, the Ghanaian-origin star reacted via a tweet on X and cheered his teammate on.

“LFG,” wrote Kingston.

Recently, Xavier Woods has been protesting that everyone, including Kofi Kingston, sees him as an inferior wrestler since he has never won a world championship before. However, Jey Uso thinks that The New Day member is a strong superstar. He also noted that Woods deserved a shot at his title.

What did Jey Uso say about Xavier Woods as his first challenger?

After it was confirmed that Xavier Woods would be facing Jey Uso for the IC Title, The Uce appeared for a backstage RAW Talk segment. Speaking to Jackie Redmond, Mr. Yeet said that he was looking forward to his fight against The New Day member. The Yeet man also highlighted his previous in-ring rivalry with the 11-time WWE tag team champion.

“Hell yeah, man, Xavier Woods deserves this opportunity, man. Great tag team. We had this historic rivalry before; I know how he'd get down, man, so I'm excited to put on next week on Monday Night RAW. We're going to put on again, it was Yeet,” Uso said.

While The Uce feels Woods is a deserving superstar, he recently shocked the WWE Universe by unmasking Rey Mysterio during a match. Woods looked visibly surprised by what happened and swore that he didn’t pull the mask intentionally. However, he didn’t wait for the legendary luchador to put his mask back on and rolled him up for a pin instead and escaped the ring as soon as he won.

It would be interesting to see if this tease at a heel turn actually results in an evil Woods and if he would be able to overcome Jey Uso.
