WWE SmackDown this week saw two qualifying matches for the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Following a big win in one of these matches, a former champion has made a huge statement and challenged Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline.

Johnny Gargano was looking forward to a big title defense match in the August 2, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Fighting before his home crowd of Cleveland, his wife Candice LeRae, and his baby, he was eager to win against The Bloodline. However, Gargano and his teammate Tommaso Ciampa lost the match due to foul play by their opponents.

Gargano addressed all these events before making his entrance for this week's match where The DIY secured a big win against Pretty Deadly. With this, the team has advanced toward being the number one contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Following his victory, Gargano tweeted a picture of the tag titles in the hands of The Bloodline and made a bold claim.

“Our property. Whatever it takes. #DIY,” wrote Gargano.

The Cleveland native is seemingly very confident of taking the tag titles back from the heel faction, which his team lost, in less than a month. Interestingly, while The DIY is keen on getting their hands on the gold, another tag team is also eyeing the top prize in The Bloodline’s possession.

The Street Profits make a remark against The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown

Alongside The DIY, The Street Profits also secured a win in the number one contender qualifiers for the tag titles. They advanced to the next stage by beating former champions Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

Before their match, however, Montez Ford claimed that The Street Profits would win the championship. Moreover, he also noted that The Bloodline was shaking in its boots ever since The Original Tribal Chief returned.

This statement’s legitimacy was proven almost instantly as Roman Reigns singlehandedly neutralized Solo’s Bloodline before the episode ended. A beaten-up Solo Sikoa later stared at Reigns from the ramp as he stood over the Tongans lying around him.

While The Head of the Table seems in control, it should be noted that Jacob Fatu, the strongest Bloodline member, is currently out injured. It would be interesting to see if Reigns can slay The Samoan Werewolf with his signature Spear when he is back in fighting shape.
