One of the biggest stories revolving around WWE in the past few days has been the sudden removal of Odyssey Jones from the internal roster. The decision was reportedly made after domestic violence allegations emerged against him.

Odyssey Jones was re-introduced to the WWE Universe last month when he made his RAW debut to help The New Day even the odds against The Final Testament. While the 30-year-old was still a part of the intriguing storyline, WWE silently removed him from the roster and cut his role on WWE RAW, which has now been questioned by a veteran.

Jim Cornette, in a recent episode of his Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru podcast, addressed the recent developments and wondered if WWE had found any evidence against the former star. The veteran questioned the company's background checks when they hired the superstar and was not satisfied with the decision the company made.

"It would seem to be hard for someone as rigorous as they have been in the past about doing the background checks, doing the medical, doing all that stuff. I've talked to numerous guys who've had to go through paperwork and hoops and everything. So they would have missed something if there was any criminal action taken or any, you know, law enforcement involvement or anything legitimate that had been reported."

Cornete continued, saying:

"And would you suddenly just take somebody's word for it if an incident happened months or years ago? Enough to immediately scrub the guy in the middle of a fu**in..? I mean, boom, he's gone. So, how did they receive information on whatever he may or may not have done that made them decide to just say 'Fu*k you, get out of here right now.' But yet, there's no evidence that any crime was reported or committed, or etc." [2:09 onwards]

Though Odyssey Jones is no longer listed in the roster, it is unknown if any new developments could lead to him making his way back to the Triple H-led company.

How does WWE handle The New Day story now?

With Odyssey Jones' appearances on RAW, WWE featured a wedge developing between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day. The duo have been together for almost a decade now and their recent storyline involving Jones and The Final Testament has given rise to some doubts.

WWE has announced that The Judgment Day will defend their World Tag Team Championship against The New Day next week on RAW. This could answer a number of questions that fans may have.

Some tension might be seen if the company still plans to add some heat between the two stars. However, if Triple H decides to drop the plan and continue The New Day's tag team domination run, a win on RAW next week won't be a surprise. Time will tell what happens when both teams square off with the tag titles on the line.
