A former WWE champion was recently spotted working out after being called out by a SmackDown Superstar on social media. The veteran performer last competed nine years ago.

The name in question is Tyson Kidd (AKA Theodore James "TJ" Wilson). The 44-year-old suffered a spinal cord injury after taking a Muscle Buster from Samoa Joa during a dark match on the June 1, 2015, edition of Monday Night RAW. This was his last in-ring appearance. Luckily, the former Hart Dynasty member survived the horrific injury.

Tyson Kidd was forced to retire from in-ring action and has since been working with WWE as a backstage producer. His wife, Natalya recently took to her X/Twitter account to post a picture of herself. Surprisingly, former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Piper Niven posted a reply asking Nattie if her husband could fight.

Although Natalya did not respond to Piper Niven, she took to Instagram stories to share a video of Tyson Kidd working out. The two-time WWE Tag Tag Champion reshared the clip posted by his wife, fueling speculations of a potential return to the squared circle.

Tyson Kid opens up about the possibility of competing inside the WWE ring

In an interview last year, Tyson Kidd claimed he will never return to the squared circle.

During his appearance on Chris Van Vliet's Insight podcast, TJ Wilson stated that although he could do almost all of his moves, he was not sure if he could take the bumps. The former World Tag Team Champion added he had never taken a bump since he got injured.

"I mean, I know they say never say never. But I've said never for the last eight years. No, the truth is I can do probably in some things I can do, like 99% of the moves. I just can't do the actual bump, or you know, and I'm sure maybe I could take a couple, but at what cost? I don't know like I haven't taken one. So there is no point to me," he said.
