Cody Rhodes reveals the one thing in WWE only John Cena is allowed to do: "I don't want to see anyone, including myself, do it"

The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, recently discussed a thing only John Cena is allowed to do in the Stamford-based promotion. The American Nightmare also mentioned that he would not break the rule by doing it either.

Cena is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step inside the squared circle. He has been one of the most successful in-ring performers ever, with a whopping 16 World Championships to his name. Several current stars have shown their admiration for The Cenation Leader on multiple occasions, including the current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

During a recent interview with SPORTbible, The American Nightmare talked about the rules wrestlers need to follow when they are on air. Rhodes mentioned that since his return to WWE in 2022, he has been allowed more freedom during his appearances.

"When I went away and came back, I was allowed to bring everything back with me, including breaking a lot of the pre-existing rules. We're out of the frame of looking at monitors sideways now," he said.

However, Cody Rhodes revealed that the only rule WWE does not allow their wrestlers to break is talking to the camera, which is a thing John Cena does during his entrance.

The American Nightmare also mentioned that he would not want to see anyone breaking this rule, including himself.

"You know, what's still a pretty big on-air rule, but it's good for production purposes, is not to talk into the camera. That's John's thing. John [Cena] looks at the camera and mentions Stu the cameraman, runs to the ring. I don't want to see anyone, including myself, do it - and I probably have done [it] at some point. But that's his [thing], and that's the reason why it's a rule - until somebody beats him and then it's his," he added. [H/T: SPORTbible]

Cody Rhodes talked about John Cena's WrestleMania request to WWE

At Money in the Bank 2023, John Cena asked WWE to bring WrestleMania to the United Kingdom. Following this, Cody Rhodes also mentioned that he would want the company to bring The Show of Shows to the UK during a recent interview with BBC 5Live.

The American Nightmare also addressed Cena as the greatest of all time, saying that if someone like him wanted it to happen, then it might come to fruition.

"When the greatest of all time, as we like to call John [Cena], goes out there and says it, it almost wills itself into existence," said Rhodes. "I'm very much looking forward to watching that situation unfold."

The Cenation Leader will return to the ring in 2025 for his retirement tour. It will be interesting to see if the Triple H-led creative team will book a match between him and Cody Rhodes.
